STEELCON ARRIVES TO KOSICE, SLOVAKIA

Steelcon the leading Danish manufacturer of factory-made steel chimneys has opened a subsidiary in Kosice, Slovakia.

The company has opened its own factory in Slovakia in order to fulfill the objective of becoming an important player on the Central European market.

“Steelcon found Kosice to be the best location for Steelcon Slovakia as it combines the good location in the centre of Europe with the local tradition of designing and producing large metal constructions” says Steelcon Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Peder Møller Andersen Steelcon has taken over a production hall of approximately 2.000 square meters located close to the company’s main supplier of sandblasting and painting of chimneys, Colorrex. Burwitz's success story

BURWITZ’S SUCCESS STORY

Since its foundation in 1949 Burwitz has worked successfully to become one of the leading refractory engineering companies in Germany. The recent past of the company is, as well, a reflection of its success. For the last few years the company has been working in over 25 countries around the world and has worked with more than 300 bricklayers and 45 engineers.

Furthermore, the company has doubled the refractory production and prefabricated parts, has achieved several maintenance contracts with a five years period of validity and developed blast furnace linings in shotcast procedure.

The main activity of Burtwiz involves refractory production, maintenance, shotcast lining and own furnace construction (special furnaces and test furnaces).

Another important aspect to outline about Burwitz is the establishment of the Burtherm Company in Eisenhüttenstadt, Germany, that it is in charge of Burwitz’s production line for premanufactured parts and refractory materials and concretes which can be used in nearly all industrial fields.

At the Eisenhüttenstadt plant all conventional refractory concretes are produced on A2O3 basis. Burwitz’s latest product is a lightweight castable. Among the recent projects developed by the company is the control of furnaces by thermal imaging cameras and video endoscopy.

To make all these achievements possible the workforce has been an important factor. Burwitz is formed by highly qualified professionals, bricklayers, foremen and engineers who receive quarterly training and management seminars.

Beroa strategic goals of entering the market for refractory maintenance and completing our range of products in the chimneys’ sector were achieved with the integration of the Burwitz Group, NovoCOS and Ramco, on the one hand, and by taking a majority stake in Steelcon, leader company in steel chimneys construction. Such actions, in addition to complying with the Group’s strategic plan, allowing Beroa reassert its global pre-eminent place in the market, help us when it comes to deal with the present international economical crisis from which almost no player can be considered exempt, being likely to continue to affect us during some time That uncertainty, together with the size reached by the Group today, recommends us to focus during these present and future months in optimizing the companies that already form part of the Group (without giving up, though, a good opportunity that might arise), acting where we really have a direct influence: the costs ....
