Steelcon the leading
Danish manufacturer of factory-made steel chimneys
has opened a subsidiary in Kosice, Slovakia.
The company has opened its own factory in Slovakia
in order to fulfill the objective of becoming
an important player on the Central European market.
“Steelcon found Kosice to be the best location
for Steelcon Slovakia as it combines the good
location in the centre of Europe with the local
tradition of designing and producing large metal
constructions” says Steelcon Chief Executive Officer,
Mr. Peder Møller Andersen.
Steelcon has taken over a production hall of
approximately 2.000 square meters located close
to the company’s main supplier of sandblasting
and painting of chimneys, Colorrex. This is “naturally
a positive factor for Steelcon”.

The products to be developed at this plant are
similar to the portfolio in Esbjerg, Denmark.
However, the workshop will be specialized in large
steel liners for concrete chimneys for the Beroa
Group. As well, due to its strategic position,
Steelcon Slovakia will therefore be the place
from where sales in the region will take place.
The project of installing production machines
has started, focusing on minimizing the internal
transport and provide fertile ground for Steelcon
to produce a high quality product. “Our production
layout is the result of many years of experience
from the factory in Denmark combined with the
use of LEAN” adds Mr. Møller Andersen.
At present time the staff consists of six blacksmiths,
one engineer and a production manager. This number
is expected to grow in the near future. And since
the employees, their skills and motivation are
what make the difference, the focus to build the
organization in Steelcon Slovakia will be upon
experience, education and quality assurance.
